A large explosion shook the south end of Ottawa last night, three buildings destroyed in the fire that followed, someone reported to have heard it as far as Stittsville. I might have heard it if I wasn't asleep at the time.

What could have caused this? did a meth lab blow up? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was the location, according to the press.

I heard that this had happened. They said on the radio "some road is reopened now after the explosions" and I was like "what explosions?".

Yes. Most definitely. I was a firefighter here in town for a number of years and we wouldn't go inside certain houses (even for basic medical care) due to their known meth lab status. We haven't had one blow here, however, when we bust them they are required to be 'dismantled' by a special crew. That's due to their explosive nature.
